The
LSWTI is currently working with the
Indus Valley School of LSWTI SINDH Women , Karachi to develop a series of
posters demonstrating the wide range of professions in which women successfully
work in Pakistan.
Co-funded by the Pakistani
Doner, the poster series will increase public awareness of the positive
contributions that Pakistani women make in less ‘traditionally’ female
professions -- as engineers, judges, pilots, taxi drivers, politicians, etc. The
photographer will capture images demonstrating that women are often in positions
of control in their work environments and in which they have line-management he

strong and due to unavailability of funds and donations we are unable to perform
our services in a better way. Hence you are requested to provide us financially
support or funds.
There are a
lot of ways you can help Afghan women and children. One of the easiest and most
effective is to donate money. We offer several ways to donate funds for our

TEACHER
TECH GIRLS
Only 100 Kms east of the metropolitan city of Karachi, Pakistan are
located rural communities which have remained untouched by changes of the modern
age. For all practical purposes they existed in the ancient Indus Valley
Civilization. Here little had happened to change women's inferior status in
society and girls' education is still a very sensitive and neglected issue. In
these bleak circumstances, an organization named "LSWTI was established in
Karachi Pakistan , It was created by seven members who formed a committee and
pledged to spread literacy in the country.

LOTUS SOCIAL WELFARE TRUST INTERNATIONAL is a non-political,
non-sectarian, non-commercial organization and non Governmental organization
dedicated to promoting basic education for females in the rural areas of
Pakistan. The Trust is known as LSWTI in Pakistan. LSWTI is a word from
scriptural meaning "Given to the Word of GOD".
GIRLS IN CLASS ROOM
The Trust started its campaign for literacy in 2001 and
independently worked for the promotion of education in the villages of the
Thatta District. The Trust had very humble beginnings - a thatched roof
office which they turned into a coaching center for children who had dropped out
from schools because they could no longer afford to attend. Hundreds of children
were thus coached, provided schoolbooks, scholarships and uniforms, enabling
them to rejoin school.
GIRLS RED THE BOOKS
The
played an important role in determining and channelising the available
community resources for girls' education and
initiated a non-formal primary education project to educate the
girls living with rural areas of the district.
To raise consciousness & facilitate rural communities in
improving their social, economical, environmental and educational conditions.
To spread awareness about the need and importance of female
education.
To endeavour to increase literacy rates among rural girls in
Pakistan and promote basic education.
To set up schools in the villages to make it possible for girls to
get enrolled and get basic education in their very village.
To motivate rural communities to educate their girls and assist
them in establishing & running their own Girls Schools.
To help rural communities in the formation of Village Development
Committees (LSWTI) and provide guidance &training to these Committees on
Participatory Development.
To establish Women Development Centres in rural areas
of Sindh , Baluchistan , N.W.F.P , Punjab to bring the rural women into the
mainstream of development and improve their economic status by way of income
generation /self-employment / entrepreneurship opportunities by providing
small loans and training.
